Opps!! A little over 5 months!

Okay, I admit I really dropped the ball this time.... I haven't posted in 5 months. Sad to say, I didn't even THINK about posting. I guess once school started I got a little busy. Not only that but, the closer Ian gets to two the more "outspoken" (to put it mildly) he is.

Well, things are going to change with the new year. I will start "Project- 365". Everyday I will post a picture of the kids (or one kid)..... I "might" slip but, I'm going to try my hardest to keep up. Wish me luck and I hope to see you every day :)

As a show of my commitment I will now add a picture of the kids in front of the christmas tree (which today Dean and I put up....yeaaaa, us!!)

Day three without Daneilla & Sean

Well, I skipped day two because it was my anniversary.... Dean and I have been married 14 years!! Whoa! Where did the time go on THAT one?? It was pretty boring we just enjoyed a nice lunch of Fillet Mignon, green beans, rice and gravy and rented two movies.... just a couple of old fogies huh? Hey, at least I didn't have to do laundry (even though it's piling up and I can't see the floor of my laundry room anymore.) I was relaxing so much that I didn't check my email, play Farmtown, or blog! I even got to start another book! Black Notice by Patrica Cornwell (I really like her Dr. Kay Scarpetta novels!).

But, today is day three and I finally called the kids in the middle of the day to check up on them. (They did call the night of day one but yesterday they fell asleep watching t.v. before they got the chance to check in with me) Well, poor Deanna, I forgot to tell her that Sean has been getting nose bleeds lately when he's in the sun for a long time or gets overheated. Today she took them to Sea World and found out! Poor thing she probably freaked! But, I'm proud to say she handled it very well and took him to the first aid station to get checked over. She's such a mature young woman; I'm so proud of her. When she first offered to take two of her sibling for a week during the summer I really didn't think she was serious! But, when she called me and told me the date of the week she requested off from work so Daneilla and Sean could go over I was impressed! I still remember the first time I met her she was 6 years old and Danieva was fixing to turn 8. Now, she's 21 and married!! Okay, I'm officially starting to feel old. No wait, I'm not getting old I just have a stepdaughter 14 years my Jr. I have a one year old baby for crying out loud!! I'm not old.... yet...LOL.

I'm not able to upload pictures today (moody computer); Sorry, I guess I'll try again tomorrow to upload pics of the kids while we were on "vacation". Until then.......

Okay, today is DAY ONE without Daneilla and Sean ...... What did I do? Did I clean my house? Did I work on catching up on all the laundry from our recent out of town trips? Nope! I didn't even unload my car!! Instead every spare moment I had I spent REreading Twilight. Yes, I'm one of "those people".....eagerly waiting for the release of New Moon in theaters. I'm not the only one in my house; Daniella is also anxiously waiting to see Jacob again. Unfortunately I gave my copy to my niece because she had all the books in hardcover except Twilight and I was planning to buy the whole set on Amazon..... but, I forgot to order them.. :( I was really lucky to find a copy at my local library I was really hoping to find New Moon but, no such luck.

Dean and Ian spent today trying to catch up on their sleep. OH!! before I forget today is also DAY (night) FIVE of Ian without his bottle! YEA! I actually threw out all of his bottles (except one, just in case). When we went to Austin I forgot to pack a couple of bottles and I was NOT going to buy him anymore. The first night was a little tough but, we survived!! I'm so proud of my baby! Next step....the pacifier!! Wish us luck!

I'm hoping to post pictures of our recent trip to Bay City, Austin, Lake Travis, Hutto... soon. But, for the time being I'm going to enjoy myself and try not to think of missing Daneilla and Sean. They called me earlier and they are having a BLAST with their sister Deanna. I miss them and want to call but, it's late and I don't want to be a hovering mother. So, I'm off to Amazon to order my books.... I wonder how much more it will be to have them overnighted??? hummmm??

Yesterday and Today

This morning when Dean got home from work he took Sean fishing. Sean caught a flounder. He was so happy, lately every fish he has caught has been too small to keep and we would have to throw them back.

Daneilla had a sleepover at a friend's house last night. Sean was feeling a little left out. I tried to make a play date for him yesterday to soften the blow but, but nothing materialize... So poor baby stayed home with his mommy and baby brother. To lighten his mood I went out and bought him all his favorites.... fresh blueberries, chocolate ice cream, kettle corn chips and green onion dip. We then came home and played with his GI Joe and watched his favorite movie (Speed Racer).

I just had to share this adorable picture of my daughter taken yesterday .... She is 9 going on 16!! Yesterday was Mari's birthday party. Daneilla LOVES birthday parties and this one was also a sleepover?! SCORE!

When I see pictures like this I wonder.... where did the time go? Where did my baby face little girl go? And when was my darling daughter replaced by this drama queen with rhinestone sunglasses?

It's fun being a mommy

So today we were at the mall and I was sitting and holding Ian in my lap. All of a sudden, I felt something wet in my lap and I realized that I had just gotten peed on. Now, I've been peed on before - but not in public and when I got up, it looked like I was the one that had wet myself. Lovely....Fun times.... (It was my fault really, because he was past due for a diaper change and one side had come off.)

Anyway, like I've mentioned I've gotten peed on before - I've also gotten pooped on, picked up poop, cleaned the poop out of the bathtub and gotten puked on a couple of times. So for all of you that aren't quite mommies just yet and first time mommies, don't worry - one day this WILL happen to you too. :)

***sorry, there are definitely no pictures to go with this post!

Autobots ATTACK!!

First let me say, I'm really not happy how the first picture can out:(. I think it's because there is just TOO MUCH BLUE in it! And Sean has a bad habit of drying his hands on his clothes.... I know, you probably wouldn't have noticed it until I pointed it out..... but, it just irks me!! Okay, vent is over.... let's move on....

Today (after Sean's Sea Camp and Daneilla's VBS) I took the kids to the movies to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I've been promising them ever since it came out in theaters. Well, today Ian did not take his morning nap and I just knew he was going to fall at any minute... perfect time to go see a 2 1/2 hour long movie!!:) So, we skip lunch and instead buy 2-large icees (a diet coke for me), the largest bag of popcorn with a free refill during the movie (like THAT'S going to happen, that sucker was HUGE!) and a big pretzel w/ cheese for Ian (oh, and 2 boxes of candy we snuck into the theater)....hey, it's summer... we can get away with occasional binging:) It was a GREAT movie (so, glad we saw it on the big screen) and just as I had predicted Ian was out like a light after 15 minutes of eating the pretzel and popcorn.....Yay!!
Now let me tell you about this @#%*%$ toy.... I hate it!! It's for ages 5+ but, that's a joke! I'm so glad I kept the instructions because when Sean first got it for his birthday 2 years ago; It took me OVER an hour to change him from robot to car! After playing with him as a car for ..... ..ummmm let me see....10 minutes Sean wants it back to a robot!??!! WTH?! It STILL takes me about 45 minutes from robot to car and 20 minutes from car to robot. I added pictures of the first 18 steps....it has a total of 38 steps and they are NOT simple steps. The only thing that saves the toy from being dumped in the trash is that Sean loves him..... oh, that and it cost us $90.00! Oh, did I even mention the annoying sounds it makes? If you forget to turn him off (like Sean often does) he reaves up his engine in the middle of the night! Sorry, no picture of it as a car... I don't feel like messing with it anymore....

Sorry, if all I'm doing is venting about every little thing but, I haven't been sleeping lately. Dean took off work yesterday to help me but, he's so sleep deprived also that he didn't hear Ian in the middle of the night. Oh, well at least HE got to catch up on his sleep.

Off the wagon!!

We were on day 4 (with no pacier)...... when Ian fell hard!! I swear! That kid has hidden a stash somewhere in this house. Just when I think I've found the last pacier, I walk into the living room and there is Ian sitting with one in his mouth!!?? Where does he find them? Just how clean are they? LOL
Yesterday I took him to the Dr for what I thought was maybe a summer cold (clear runny nose/ cough). Turns out he has an ear infection in BOTH ears!! Poor baby, so when I walked into the living room and found him like this.....pacier in mouth, 3 in hand I just let him have them. Besides he's only 14-months he's still a baby! He needs something to soothe himself right now.
Sean started Sea Camp and he is having the time of his life! Monday they were at the Maritime Museum and they were learning about stars, star constellations etcetera and they gave them "Astronaut" ice cream (freeze dried) he didn't like it and with that he shot down any notions of ever becoming an astronaut (at least until they get better food). Today they went to the Fulton mansion and the most exciting thing he could remember was that the little boy beside him on the bus was carsick and he thought he was going to puke! ewwwww!! But, to Sean's disappointment the little boy didn't puke. Boys!!?!! Tomorrow they are going to the Art Museum. The Art Museum was Sean's favorite when he did "Tiny Tots" a couple years back; where he did watercolor painting, a little clay bowl and even a gingerbread house during Christmas.
Daneilla is going to VBS # 4!! We usually go to our church, and the big Baptist church. But this year our neighbour invited the kids to her church's vbs and this last one is one that Daneilla saw in the newspaper and asked to go to...... Hey, she gets to get out of the house for three hours and she learns about God's word.... win/win situation :). Today she learned about queen Ester (she actually got to play Queen Ester in a little skit..... CUTE!!!!).

4th of July

I hope everyone had a safe, fun filled 4th of July. Here are some shot of the kids taken during the day. We barbecued t-bones , the kids favorite chicken wings and roasted corn on the cob.....mmmmm. I love holiday weekends:)

I add the last picture that was taken last year's 4th of July to show how much the kids have grown/ changed. Sean didn't change much but, Ian must have doubled in size!! Hey, I just realized I bought shirts with the same design for this year!! Only this year Daneilla and Sean's shirts were sleeveless. Oh well what do you expect from Walmart? A team of fashion designer?

The Tooth Fairy

Instead of boring you with our uneventful day at the pool today; I thought I would share a funny story to go along with this picture taken May 16, 2009.
At 6 years old Sean has started losing teeth and Ian's teeth have begun to come in. As fate would have it for every tooth Sean lost the exact tooth broke threw in Ian's mouth! (I know, crazy huh? What are the odds?) Well, this too didn't escape Sean's attention and this is the conclusion he came up with.....
Sean: Mom, what does the tooth fairy do with all the teeth she collects?
Me: I'm not sure.....
Sean: I KNOW what she's doing with MINE.
Me: Really? What?
Sean: She's giving them to Ian!!
I had to bite my lip not to bust out laughing on that one!! Kids say the darnedest things!

Swimming

These picture were taken May 17, 2009 but, I'm going to use them for yesterday's event because (hold on to you hats) I forgot to take my camera with me...gasp!!
With the temperature constantly in the high 90s (heat index in the 100s) I decided to pack up the kids and head to the pool's afternoon swim. Once we get there I'm informed "open swim" isn't for another hour there was only lap swimming allowed.... I said "Okay" the lady at the window looks at the kids and then me like I'm crazy while asking "YOU'RE going to lap swim?" I reply "No, I'm going to watch the baby. THEM two are going to lap swim." Well, Sean showed her! He swam a total of 12 laps! I was so proud (even the lifeguards were impressed). I made him rest every 2-4 laps but, he was on a roll!
Can I have a "Woo-Hoo Sean!!" ?

Okay, here we go....

Okay, here we go......

I love taking picture of my kids and showing them off. But, for fear of friends and family blocking my emails (because I bombard them with pictures of my kids everyday) I've decided to set up this blog/ website. I hope you all come and visit often so you can see the kids grow....... If not, I'll have to resort to sending pictures threw email....brahahaha :)
